I have practiced law in Colorado since 1974, when I became a graduate of the University of Arizona Law School. I served as a Deputy District Attorney for seven years with the El Paso County District Attorney's office. During that time, I was assigned to handle felony cases, grand jury presentations, and child support collections. From 1982 to 1984, I was Chief Deputy in the Child Support Division.

In 1985, I was appointed to the El Paso County bench as a District Court Referee (now called Magistrate). In five years as Referee, I acted as a judicial officer and heard thousands of family law and juvenile cases. These insights into the family court system from several perspectives enable me to anticipate how a judge will view your case, and advise you accordingly.

Since 1990, I have been in private practice in Colorado Springs, emphasizing family law. My legal assistant, Pam Isner, has been with me since the beginning.

My family law firm provides personal, quality legal service to our clients. The number one complaint about lawyers is that they fail to return calls to clients and fail to keep clients advised of the status of their case. That doesn't happen at my firm. Pam and I return telephone calls promptly. We send copies of all correspondence and all legal documents to our clients.

One-hour consultations are available for a reduced fee of $100. (My normal hourly rate is $250 per hour.) I charge a retainer up front before I will commence legal representation; the retainer varies from $1,500 to $4,000, depending on the complexity of the case and the issues involved.

I handle child support and alimony (called spousal maintenance) collection cases on a contingent fee basis. That is, I will agree to take a percentage of the arrears collected. No retainer is required, and there are no fees charged, other than court costs, if I fail to collect back child support or alimony.
